A little bit about me

Hi!

My name is Ntsakisi, pronounced (Sa-ki-si) which means ' the thing that brings happiness.' I grew up in South Africa and had an affinity for children at an early age. From the age of fifteen, I started volunteering at a local orphanage, day center and I've traveled the country as an Aupair.

I am a positive, energetic, and easygoing person. I pride myself on my integrity and effective communication skills. I like to think of myself as not only a nanny but also as a role model and an extra hand around the house. Not only am I patient, caring, and nurturing, I am also extremely organized and very detailed when it comes to what I do with the children.

I am passionate about Early Childhood Development Studies so the activities I plan are always centered around reaching our next developmental milestones, this includes Montessurri activities, baby sign language, physical development, personal/social, and emotional development just to name a few :)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered every summer at a local orphanage in South Africa from the age of fifteen. This is where I discovered that I had a heart for infants and young children. This experience helped me to develop a level of patience & care. These children taught me how to love and embrace love, to be persistent, and go after what I want, and to always be open to learning new things, because every day I was with them I learned something new about the world. I've come to realize that I am still reaping the rewards of that one experience today. The children hold a very special place n my heart and we are still in contact today :)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy baking and treasure hunts, puppet shows, and tea parties! Being outdoors, exploring, and going on an adventure! I love reading with the children, building arts and crafts, and an indoor fort once in a while. Walks are the best with infants. Their activities are usually Montessori-based, so we have a lot of cognitive play, motor development skills, and scenery play!

The most important part about being a nanny...

When one of the young toddlers that I've watched since he was born finally settled on a nickname for me. I am now "nana". At 15 months he knocked on my door shouting 'nana up'. This is one of my favorite memories. I was there the first time he crawled, the first time he walked, he's first swim lesson. I treasure these moments with families.
