I love anything creative, dolls, coloring, singing, dancing, really anything I can tell they enjoy! In turn I enjoy it myself, knowing that they're having a good time! It really brings out the inner child in yourself sometimes.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters to me about being a nanny is knowing that I am a safe and comforting space for children to come back to. Whether they think of you in the next 10 years or the next 10 months. Knowing that you are making an impact is so rewarding. Safety is just as rewarding and important to me. In the day and age we live in, it's very important you have a trustworthy person taking care of your precious children. I know how scary it can feel to trust someone new and I hope I can set your mind at ease!
My experience with special needs children...
My partner of 4 years has Tourettes and Autism. A major thing I've learned from him is patience and determination. No matter who you are or what you struggle with, we are all capable of amazing things! I would consider myself very experienced in dealing with special needs children/adults. I know it can feel scary, trusting someone with your kid, knowing they are more sensitive. Trust when I say, I will do everything I can to allow a safe and comfortable space for your child/children. I always strive to be a comforting presence to the people around me.
