Currently I am working as a CNA through a nursing home, but I have lots of sitter experience and am hoping to switch to a full time nanny soon! This past summer I nannied a 6, 3, and <1 year old for about 9-10 hours a day every other week.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being outdoors so anything like swimming, jumping on a trampoline, even just playing tag in the yard are great for children when I babysit/nanny. If outdoor activities are unavailable then I'm also a great companion in hide and seek and play-dough!
My experience with special needs children...
I haven't cared one-on-one with special needs children in the past, but my current job exposes me to all types of children (including special needs) where I am able to start loving and patient conversations. My mother is also a special needs elementary teacher where I have volunteered at school parties. I would consider this experience because I have learned to maintain quality conversation and create a safe space for the children to express how they feel.
