The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing about being a nanny is making sure kids feel safe, cared for, and loved. It’s not just about watching them—it’s about helping them grow, learn, and have fun. Every kid is different, so it’s important to be patient and figure out what works best for them.
Being a nanny also means building trust with both the kids and their parents. Clear communication is super important to make sure you’re on the same page as the family. At the end of the day, it’s about being someone the kids can rely on and look up to while helping them feel happy and confident. It’s a big responsibility, but it’s so rewarding to know you’re making a difference in their lives.

My experience with special needs children...
One of my most memorable experiences with special needs children happened while substituting for a special education class. There was a student who had difficulty expressing themselves verbally but loved puzzles. When I noticed them sitting quietly during free time, I sat down and started working on a puzzle nearby. At first, they watched me hesitantly, but as I encouraged them with smiles and simple questions, they began to join in.
Piece by piece, we worked together, and by the end, they were beaming with pride as we completed the puzzle. They even clapped and showed it off to the other students. That moment reminded me how small gestures and patience can make a big difference in connecting with children who need extra support.
It was a touching experience, and it reinforced my belief in the importance of understanding and celebrating every child’s unique strengths. Moments like that are why I love working with kids, especially those with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments happened while babysitting a 4-year-old girl from my church community. She loved pretending to be a chef, so we created a "restaurant" in the living room. She crafted a menu with "written" specials and wore an oversized apron, ready to prepare Play-Doh meals. I became her customer, and she served "rainbow spaghetti" and "chocolate broccoli," laughing every time I pretended to love the food.
Later, we moved the restaurant outdoors, turning it into a picnic. Using her toy tea set, we sat on the grass under the sun, pretending the food was real. Midway through, she handed me a flower and said, "You're the best customer ever!" It was such a sweet moment that melted my heart.
That day reminded me how imaginative and joyful kids can be. It’s not just about taking care of them; it’s about being part of their world, sharing their creativity and laughter. Simple moments like these make nannying such a rewarding experience.
