A little bit about me

Hi I’m Paige, I’m 18, I plan to be an elementary teacher or special education teacher in my future and want to find jobs that help with that goal. I currently have my pre-professional certification in education fundamentals and am CPR certified. I’ve babysat for family friends a few times since I was 13, and have worked a couple times in the children’s classes at my church. I’ve also taken a year long college course class called Virginia teachers for tomorrow where I spent the last 3 months interned into a 1st grade classroom. I like to use the time I spend the kids to make it a fun but safe experience. And my most important goal is to match the kids needs and personalities. I like to specialize the specific needs of each child and attend to needs that will help each specific child, even when working with caring for multiple children. We can have fun and be creative but take time to stay calm and learn.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love finding spare time to do fun activities with the children. I like to spend as much time outside with them on the days it’s nice. I’ve spent lots of time in school learning and making lesson plans and activities that match each age group. I like to use fun sources from online and spend as least money possible by being creative! Inside actives for the younger ones may be pretend play (school, house, kitchen) it can be painting, reading, making fun dances and songs, hide and seek and more. Outside actives vary from taking walks, going to the park, playing sports, and looking at nature! I try to be creative as possible with things like making nature braclets!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part to me when caring for children is to give them that extra attention and care that they may not have time to receive in their daily life. I believe it’s very important for each child to feel heard and noticed and have that bond where they know they are loved and watched. Taking things slow and giving my focus to children allows there minds and body to receive that little bit of extra care and understanding that I try to give them. My job as there sitter is to be able to ignore the outside busyness of life that parents have and spend the time I have with them to give them my all.

My experience with special needs children...

I took a course my junior year of highschool called Virginia teachers for tomorrow, where we learned all about specials needs specifically in the classrooms. We were taught how to provide the extra care and to do similar activities but with a hint of change that varies to the child’s needs. We learned how to observe what each child may need or what their disability may be. Unfortunately I do not have any physical experience with caring for children with special needs, but am always willing to learn and go the extra mile to care for those who need more!

Emma C. - Seeking Work in Virginia Beach

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Virginia Beach, VA: Emma C.

Hi! I’m Emma! I’ve been babysitting since I was in middle school and once I became old enough to get a job I became a day camp counselor for kids ages 5-11. I’m experienced with newborns and toddlers as well! I used to mainly babysit for my old teachers in high school and for my parents colleagues. Although I’m a youngest child I’ve always had a sense of motherly instinct ever since I was little, and enjoy making babies smile and playing with younger kids.
