A little bit about me

I'm a Graduate psychology student and have been an Au Pair for 2 years, I have experience with a military family and families with special needs. Being an Au Pair has been one of the best experiences I've ever had, I have acquired a diverse set of skills like multitasking, finding creative ways to teach kids and thinking on my feet. The most important thing for me is child mental health, making sure that your child(ren) get(s) the best care and has/ have their emotional needs catered to. I am currently preparing for my board exams to be a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst and will be open to start working Immediately. I also provide Ad Hock Nanny services for families with unique schedules, date nights, back-up care for families that already have care, emergency care personnel and so on.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 7 years of experience as a Nanny including being an Au Pair for two years. Prior to working as a Nanny I several jobs including working as a camp counselor, volunteering in the kids ministry at church as a Sunday school teacher, working at the South African Depression and Anxiety Group with my tasks mainly being running school outreaches and having a mobile service center for children to receive free counseling sessions. During my term as an executive in the Psychological Society of South Africa-Student division I ran a lot of community projects centered around children, one of the biggest projects I had was running a book drive where we collected new and mildly used books from people and organizations and my team and I distributed it at a charity event I hosted. My long-term goal is having a non-profit organization that provides free mental health services for children in economically deprived communities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

tummy time while reading, letter factory for infants, story book, circle time, science experiments, tennis, basketball, soccer, cooking or helping with playroom cleanup. I’m fairly active and spend most of my time playing games that require running or dancing. Depending on the parents, I also like having structured days with the kids

The most important part about being a nanny...

To create a happy, safe environment for a child to grow, learn and blossom into amazing little humans. My Philosophy is raising adults that don’t have to heal from their childhoods. Child mental health and emotional wellbeing is absolutely important and non-negotiable for me.
