More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started working in Georgia in 2003 at my son's head start program until I moved to Jacksonville Florida in 2008. I then worked for Just 4Kids in 2009 for 3yrs....worked for a small preschool for 2 years...then in [phone number hidden] for T's Learning Center that is now owned by Kinder Care...... I currently work for Primrose in Nocatee for 5 years. I teach the ABC's, how to hold a pencil, write their name, counting, number recognition, and a multitude of other skills and experiences to be ready for VPK or/and the next progression they may have.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy playing games,arts and crafts, going to the park, doing planned activities such as movies,nature walks,bike rides or with scooters, exploring, science experiments, reading books and expanding the interests of the child or children and discovering new ones.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's having a connection with the child or children, providing a safe, nurturing environment that makes them feel seen,heard and important .

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with ADHD children, children with special allergies and I can make adjustments to any activity or project. I have worked with children who have ODD or challenging behaviors. And I am open to caring for any child with the support of their parents.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have many favorite moments in the 20+ years I have been caring for children but when I was a preschool working with a child who was 3 years old and getting ready for VPK and learning to spell and write his name. He had been working on it for a few weeks and he was beginning to get discouraged.....he loved cars so I wrote his name in large letters and made race lanes under each one leading to a car garage. Then I took a bunch of cars a wrote each letter of his name and other random letters as they were parked in the garage. He was excited about the cars and I told him he needed to find each letter of his name in order and drive it to the correct one. We did this for a few minutes and we developed a song to go along with the car letters. I told him that the challenge now was to write the letters one at a time and then find the car. The day he wrote his name all by himself and the happiness I saw on his face was one of the reasons why I love working with children.
