I’ve raised two good kind people who have chosen good kind spouses. We’ve lived a normal middle-class lifestyle – high-spirited and taking in of all available on a money/time budget. We lived half their life in Union, Missouri and the other half in Blytheville, Arkansas. Ina and Yann are both professionals. Ben and Lindsey are in ministry. They have toddler Ella and baby Clara. I’ve cared for Ella at their home while doing my full-time accounting job. Both couples have recently moved to the eastern US. I’ve taught 7th – 12th grade English, Speech, and Journalism. I have been an active participant in my kids activities for whatever a parent was needed. These included swimming, gymnastics, t-ball, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, track, band, Odyssey of the Mind, school plays, classroom parties, school field trips, and church youth group activities and trips.

My experience begins with being the eldest of three daughters by four years, transitioned when I was 12 following completion of the Red Cross babysitting course, and evolved into nannying the summer of 2000. Over the years, I’ve been incorporated into the day-to-day lives of 15 lil’ones & kiddos, ranging from 3mo thru 11yrs old, and a few dozen others for random days & date nights. The positions have predominantly been live-out for families of 1-3 children, occasionally including those of family friends. Frequently working a flex schedule that adapts to the families’ needs, spanning 5-45 hrs/wk, I’ve been sourced for day, night & overnight care. I believe in compassionate communication thru genuine listening, affirmations, guiding questions & honesty; providing enriching & playfully education experiences; respecting the family’s approach to nurturing, scheduling & discipline; and facilitating cultivation of life skills. There is much chatter exchanged between the children and me about experiences/feelings, hows/whys, and silliness. We flow between freeform/structured play, amplified/mellow energy levels, and social/self-dynamics, in alignment with age & development appropriateness. Accordingly, ABCs, 123s, colors, shapes & textures; learning to draw, write, read & calculate; and middle school level curriculum are woven throughout our moments shared. Play includes practicing movement skills (sit up, crawl, stand up, walk, coordination, dance/yoga inspired moves, ride a bicycle, etc), story time, singing & musical instruments, crafting, board & card games, science experiments, impromptu performances, nature walks, picnics, and adventures (parks, libraries, museums, etc). Food prep, tidying, baths, nap/bedtime, and negotiable domestic tasks (either eco/conventional approach) are integrated amidst the play. I am certified in CPR/1st aid (8/10, renewing 5/12), Karma Kids Yoga (1/07) & as a hatha/vinyasa yoga teacher (8/08) and have taught dance classes for all ages. Although I do not own a car, I am an experienced, safe driver with a valid license & clean record. Personally, I commute by walking, bicycle, or bus and have consistently been able to transport myself on time throughout Jax.

Hi, my name is Brittany. I am 24 years old and have many years of experience as a caregiver. I have been very involved with three families. I currently am part time on occasional day with a 2 year little girl and 4 year old boy, as well as 1 year old twins but am relocating to Texas once my fiance and I get married. I also nanny'd a 3 year old girl and 4 year old autistic boy. I have been with them since december of last year. The family before that were 2 boys (2 and 4 years old) and I was with them for 2 years. Prior to this I was a nanny for 5 and 7 year old girls for 2 years live in and a few out. My responsibilities have included, but are not limited to transporting children to and from school/ pre-school and activities, keeping house tidy, bathing, preparing dinner, and interacting with/caring for the childrens needs. I have been on vacations with the girls and their family as well and love to travel. I have kept both families over weekends while their parents have been out of town, haven't had the opportunity yet with current family. I enjoy being very active and involved with the families that I have cared for and they have been like family to me. I love outdoor sports and am definitely not afraid of getting my hands dirty! I have participated in competitive gymnastics, dance, and cheerleading since the age of 4 and have coached these sports as well. I am CPR, first aid and health care provider certified. I was previously a lifeguard for 3 years. I do have experience with special needs children as well. My mom has had an in home day care for 27 years and she used to care for a boy with down syndrome. He and his sister spent every evening and night with our family due to their single father working nights. I also have a good friend whose sister has cerebral palsy. I am currently in school part time and in my last semester before my AA where I then will go back for my degree in nursing. I also have two very active 3 and 5 year old nieces who I absolutely adore. I can give references and more information upon re-guest. I would love to meet you and your family! You can reach me by e mail.

Growing up I never had a 'real' job, I just babysat for the neighbor kids and other families. When I was 10 I took a babysitting class and started to care for the neighbor kids. During high school, I nannied for a family throughout the summer in which I cared for their girl, drove her to camps, and did various house tasks. Now that I am in college I continue to babysit as a means of income. In undergrad I nannied for 2 families in which i cared for the kids, brought them to their activities, general household duties and cooked meals. After undergrad I worked for a year with 1 other adult to run an at home daycare in which there are a total of 12 children. I moved to Florida to attend physical therapy school and am now looking for a nanny position here in Florida.
