A little bit about me

I have and raised two children now adults. I helped raise my five grand children. My son was schizophrenic and my grandson has autism. Asperger’s. I also took care of an older married couple both with dementia. My last employment. She suffered a severe stroke and both had to be hospitalized so I am no longer working. I cooked, cleaned kitchen, drove them to appointments and kept them company. I as m flexible somewhat and am a good driver. Do not want to drive too far.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have two grown children and three grandchildren. They are all smart and doing great. I have also taken care of a people that had schizophrenia, dementia and autism. All have done well. I love babies and children of all races.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play with them, build forts, board games, read and laugh be silly. I have wrote a children’s book, illustrated myself and self published it entitled “A Wish Almost Lost”.
Children should follow the plans prepared by the parents but also have fun. Homework should be done when they come home then they may play.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The way when you leave their home and you have a smile on your face thinking about something they said or did and you can’t wait to get home and tell your husband. I love the way a baby smells after a bath and the way they will give you a hug and say they say if they had one rush it would be that god made one hundred thousand of Miss Pauline’s so other children could share me with them.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a grandson who has Asperger Autism. He has always needed more time to shop, care for himself or do anything but does well if you assist a little and give him time to think. Schizophrenic people always want to have the last word and sometimes think you are not on their side. You have to have a lot of patience with them. Encourage them and explain things to them. Make them feel that it’s ok to feel like that. There is no normal.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Our daughter Amy when she was very little saw me laying on the couch. She came up to me and tried to place her bed pillow under my head. I looked at her and her sweet green eyes were staring at mine as she said, there mommy. Now are you comterful? It’s was so sweet. So many great memories it’s hard to think of just one.
