I was a home-aid for a friend who is pregnant and when she had the baby I was helping her with the baby as well and to this day still help he's my godson.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to play hide and seek with kids cuz they come up with the greatest hiding spaces. I also like to read to kids because it gives me an opportunity to bring characters alive and pique curiosity and interests. I also love to teach kids the things that I learned while in culinary school and it's a great way of teaching them how to be safe around the kitchen and also how to make some of their favorite foods or try things that they never had the opportunity to make before.
The most important part about being a nanny...
All the things you learn from not only the kids but the parents it's something you can take and incorporate into your life when you have children or even if you don't have children and don't expect to have children you learn something new everyday you're with children and it's breathtaking I love it's one of the best experiences and you learned lots of patience lots of lots of lots of patients.
My experience with special needs children...
I have some experience in helping children with special needs. I've helped kids with autism at a young age I was in middle School when my school started this program to help tutor younger kids and I was part of that program and I got assigned a few kids who had autism it was very difficult because I didn't understand how to help them when they got frustrated and angry. But with a little patience and a lot of guidance I got through it and now I have learned so much patience not just with autistic children or children with special needs but with everything in life and it's actually one of the best experiences in my life. such amazing people and I'm grateful for the opportunity they gave me to become a better person.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite Nanny moment is when I came home from culinary school where I had learned how to make these awesome little pizza rolls made from spring roll wraps or wonton wraps. I was teaching it to the kids at the time and they were just so fascinated and so happy. It was amazing I loved every second of it and to know that they felt good about something that they helped to make it was refreshingly amazing I love that feeling all the time.
