More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In addition to my nanny experience, I’ve cared for children in a variety of settings over the years. In high school, I volunteered as a tutor for elementary school students, helping them with reading, writing, and basic math. I also volunteered at a horse therapy program where I worked with children on the autism spectrum, helping them feel comfortable around the horses and guiding them through simple exercises — that experience taught me a lot about patience and connection. On a more personal level, I’ve been helping care for my sister’s children since I was 15. From babysitting and school pick-ups to park days, bedtime routines, and everything in between, I’ve been a hands-on part of their lives as they’ve grown. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in understanding kids and supporting them in a kind, engaging, and reliable way.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy staying active and creative with kids. Some of my favorite activities to do with them include playing sports, doing arts and crafts, baking or cooking simple recipes together, going for walks, and spending time at the park. I also love reading stories, building forts, doing puzzles, and coming up with fun learning games that keep them engaged without screens. I try to follow their interests and let them lead the way while still keeping things safe, structured, and fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important thing about being a nanny is creating a space where a child feels safe, loved, and truly seen. Kids remember how you make them feel, and being a consistent and caring presence in their lives can have a lasting impact. It is not just about watching over them, it is about building trust, encouraging their growth, and showing up with patience, kindness, and joy every day. Being part of a child’s journey, even in small ways, is something I do not take for granted.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with children with autism through a volunteer program called Head with Horses. I supported kids on the spectrum by helping guide them through therapeutic horseback riding sessions. I was responsible for engaging with them, encouraging them to follow directions, and helping them stay focused during the activities. I also assisted with basic care for the horses and ensured the kids were safe and comfortable at all times.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was with a 4-year-old I used to care for. We were building a fort out of blankets and pillows on a rainy day, and she told me it was our “adventure house” where only kind people were allowed in. Once we were inside, she handed me a toy phone and said, “Call your mom and tell her you’re safe with me.” It was such a sweet and genuine moment — it reminded me how deeply kids feel connection and how important it is to create a space where they feel safe, heard, and loved. Moments like that are exactly why I love what I do.
