More About Me
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going outside and playing in nature! Anything from a soccer game to drawing on the sidewalk, I'm ready for it! As much as love being outside, there are so many fun things to do inside as well. We could make up songs and stories or have dance parties! I'm still a lover of coloring books even at my big age so thats also one of my favorite activities!
The most important part about being a nanny...
is being able to be an asset for parents and their children. Growing up with a single mom most of my life, I know how hard it is on both the parent and the child when you can't physically be there for them. It's important to me to be the best nanny/sitter I can be because I want to positively contribute to the people around me and help families when they need som extra support.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with a variety of individuals with special needs. I volunteered at a non profit that supported adults and children with downs syndrome! I was also fortunate enough to babysit for some of the families I had met there. In addition, I tutored children with autism and ADHD! I worked with one particular child with ADHD for almost 4 years. I was introduced to him when I was volunteering in a first grade classroom and he was presenting severe symptoms and behaviors of untreated/undiagnosed ADHD. Over the 4 years I worked with them, I became fully invested in helping him and his family however I could. That included attending parent teacher conferences and psychiatry appointments to give insight from an education standpoint as well as intensive tutoring 3 times a week, 2 hours a day.

I am 21 years old and currently going to school at Cal State LA, studying psychology. The two best jobs I’ve ever had are the ones where I got to work with children. I worked at a daycare with children from ages 1 to 13, as well as SkyZone trampoline park. Although I am not currently working, I miss when I could interact with children everyday because they keep they vibe pure and happy. I could not think of a better workspace to be in and I love to stay busy.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in South Pasadena, CA: Jessica A.
When I was a senior in high school, I became a full time nanny for a 10-year-old boy and stayed at his house M-F. I woke up, made him breakfast, took him to school, went to school myself, picked him up, took him to swim, went home and made dinner, finished homework and tucked him in. Due to his life experiences, he unfortunately suffered from night terrors, so that is something I have much experience with.
While in college, I worked with the United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona as an Applied Behavior Specialist for a young girl with autism. I lived with the family on and off to ensure I was providing the best service possible.
After college I moved to Thailand to teach English for a year. After receiving my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) I dove into a classroom of 3rd and 4th graders and absolutely loved it. Assimilating in a new culture as an educator is an experience I feel so grateful to have had. I believe traveling breeds creativity and enables personal growth.
