A little bit about me

I am studied psychology with a minor in childhood studies as I plan on becoming a child psychologist one day. I have taken many classes on child development and literature. Since I was 15, I have been CPR certified and trained in First Aid.

I was a lifeguard starting at the age of 15 and have been a diving coach since I was 16, so I am comfortable being around the pool with kids. I also worked at a child center in a gym for two and a half years. While there I provided care for children 3 months to 12 years old. When in the center, I get to be a part of a playgroup and play games, dance, and do crafts with toddlers. If I was placed in the infant room, I was able to help with tummy time, feedings, and naps!

More About Me

This past academic year, I have been volunteering in the same second-grade class. I go once to twice a week. I also have been volunteering at a site called Family Focus, where I play with kids during parent-child groups and with there preschool class.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing activities with kids. If it's rainy, I enjoy looking up a fun craft that is creative and fun for the child, and if it's a beautiful day outside, I like to try and get the kids outside in any way. I also love playing music for the kids to dance and play too (one of my favorites being The Floor is Lava!).

My experience with special needs children...

I have been trained to be a registered behavior technician for ABA therapy which is used to help children with Autism.
