Hi! I'm Becca and I love working with kids! I've been nannying for the past 6 years and I have teaching experience. I love being silly with little ones, but I can also help with homework with older kiddos. Most of my recent experience is with infants, babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. My bachelor's degree is in elementary education and I've worked as a teaching assistant in both preschool and elementary classrooms. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked professionally in childcare for over 15 years. I have 3 years of experience in the classroom as a teaching assistant. I have been serving families as a private nanny for the last 6 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking walks in the neighborhood or just getting out into the yard outside. I enjoy taking children to the library or park, or a class the family has signed them up for. It's always fun to read books together with children. I love building with blocks or coloring; any activity the child is interested in I love to play along with them. I love to play music for them, and sing along and dance! Being silly and creative with children is one of my favorite things!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me the most important part of being a nanny is the connection with the child or children and the connection and relationship with the parents or guardians. Equally important as bonding with the child is creating a relationship with the parents where they know they can communicate with me and trust me with their precious babies. I pride myself on communicating well and often with parents, but not too often so as to distract them. My goal is to keep families informed of important updates like minor injuries or accidents that can occur, but to let them be able to put their mind at ease knowing they have a professional caring for their child(ren) who has experience and knows when to call or text and when to save it for the hand off update. Communication is key, as they say!

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked in preschool and elementary classrooms that served children with special needs. I have worked with children on the spectrum, children with other developmental delays, as well as children with physical disabilities. I have not worked with this population for the last 5 years, but I do have experience to fall back on.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments with any child I get to care for are the ones where we snuggle up with a book and I can feel them relax into me. Knowing I can be another safe adult for a child is a really special honor. Creating a bond with a child or children is so special and I don't take it for granted.
