Hello my name is Rebecca and my life long goal is to open a 24 hour daycare. As you can see I haven’t worked in the childcare field in a while (except with family and friends, I watch all the children in my life.) The reason for me not working in the field since then is daycares just don’t pay enough for me to survive and live off of so I have been a server for the last 12 plus years. Of course the child’s safety comes first but being able to connect and bond with them is a must. Children feel and know things and now a days are smarter beyond their years.

My experience with special needs children...

I attended a vocational program at SELF School here in Valparaiso from 2000 to 2002 and throughly enjoyed it. I worked with children from the ages of 4 to about 15 with all different kinds of special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Can’t say that I have a favorite. I feel as though I am a big kid still at heart and just being able to be a part of children’s lives and to help them grow and teach them is enough for me !!!
