A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Rebecca, and I’m a nurturing, reliable, and experienced nanny based in Houston, TX. I have over 6 years of childcare experience working with children of all ages in a variety of settings — including nannying, babysitting, daycares, and afterschool programs. I’ve cared for toddlers, school-aged kids, and even a child with special needs. I recently graduated from Southwestern University with a degree in English, and I’m CPR and First Aid certified through the Red Cross. I’m passionate about creating a safe, engaging, and loving environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun. Whether it’s helping with homework, driving to activities, planning crafts, or just being a steady presence, I treat every child in my care like family!

"It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Rebecca, who was our nanny for several years. She cared for our three children (ages 5, 7, and 9) both after school and during the summer, and we truly cannot speak highly enough of her. Rebecca is not only incredibly reliable—consistently showing up on time and often stepping in on short notice—but she also quickly became part of our family. Our children absolutely adore her, and so do we. Her calm, warm, and engaging nature made her a perfect fit for our busy household. She went above and beyond every day: organizing creative arts and crafts projects, helping with homework, and safely driving the kids to and from school and activities. We trusted her completely with both the care of our children and our home, and she never once let us down. Rebecca is responsible, kind, and has a natural gift for working with kids. Any family would be lucky to have her, and we recommend her wholeheartedly."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience caring for children in various settings. I have worked for the YMCA afterschool care program for three years, providing supervision, helping with homework, and engaging in activities for children of different ages. Additionally, I have been babysitting since I was 16, caring for infants, toddlers, and older children. I have also nannied for multiple families, tailoring my care to each child’s needs while fostering a safe and nurturing environment. My experience extends to daycare work, where I assisted in early childhood education and daily routines. Beyond traditional childcare, I have a background in wildlife education, teaching children about nature and animals through interactive programs. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with children, ensuring their well-being while encouraging learning and creativity.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging children in activities that are both fun and enriching. I enjoy reading stories aloud and encouraging imaginative play, whether through dress-up, puppet shows, or storytelling. Arts and crafts are another favorite, as they allow kids to express creativity while developing fine motor skills. I also love outdoor activities like hiking, nature scavenger hunts, and exploring local parks, fostering a love for nature and adventure. Additionally, I enjoy incorporating educational games, helping with homework, and engaging children in interactive science and wildlife lessons. Whether baking, playing board games, or building forts, I strive to create meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, learning, and joy!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children feel valued and encouraged to grow. It’s not just about supervision—it’s about building meaningful connections, fostering curiosity, and helping children develop confidence and independence. Every child is unique, so it’s important to adapt to their individual needs while providing consistency, kindness, and patience. Being a nanny also means being a positive role model, teaching important life skills, and creating a space where children feel comfortable expressing themselves. Ultimately, the heart of nannying is making a lasting impact by supporting both the child and their family with care, trust, and dedication.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I helped a little girl overcome her fear of reptiles. She was initially terrified, but since I grew up around reptiles and have experience with wildlife education, I took the time to gently introduce her to a small, friendly lizard. We read books about reptiles, watched videos, and even made a fun craft together. After a few weeks, she surprised me by asking to hold the lizard herself! Seeing her face light up with excitement and pride was such a rewarding moment—it reminded me how important patience, encouragement, and hands-on learning can be in helping children grow and overcome their fears.
