A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Reese, and I am a full-time student at a local university. I am studying elementary education, with a focus in childhood development and psych. I am freshly married to my high school sweetheart, and we have a wiener dog named Ruby! My desire to teach children and watch them grow is strong, and I love nothing more than watching that “AHA!” moment take place when the kids finally grasp a concept! I am always finding ways to incorporate learning into daily tasks, while also making them fun and enjoyable. Although I am still in school and just getting started, I am willing to get ahead and obtain any preferred certifications/training needed. My goal with this is to grow my experience and knowledge in the world of working with children, in addition to nurturing them and making sure that they are cared for above and beyond. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

i have one nephew that i primarily babysit while my sister and brother in-law are working. I’ve done this since he’s been born, and he is almost four now!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

i enjoy teaching them new things, getting them outside to play, and reading books with them (my all time favorite!)

The most important part about being a nanny...

in my eyes, the most important part about being a nanny is primarily, their safety and well-being. That is above all else. After that priority is established, I think it’s also important that they are actively engaging in real time, rather than being disassociated with the world. Being outside, playing with toys, eating good meals, receiving proper attention, and simply just being a kid are my goals for them, and I would say that it is a fundamental key to healthy growth.

My experience with special needs children...

As far as educational experience, I have taken numerous courses on interventions and strategies to help accommodate to their needs. In terms of in person experience, I’ve worked in classrooms with children who have different sets of needs that I’ve learned how to maneuver and care for.
