Hi! I’m Robyn, an experienced nanny and early childhood educator with over 20 years of experience working with children of all ages. I began my career as a young toddler teacher and later spent 13 years as a nanny before returning to early childhood education, where I’ve worked as a preschool and Pre-K teacher and in leadership roles.

I’m a warm, hands-on caregiver who loves creating meaningful experiences based on children’s interests. I enjoy nature and outdoor exploration, gardening, art, science, reading, cooking, and outings to museums, libraries, and other local adventures. I believe children learn best through play, curiosity, creativity, and exploration.

In addition to my nanny experience, I have an extensive background in early childhood education. I began my career as a young toddler teacher and have since worked with children across all early childhood age groups. I have held positions as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, and Pre-K teacher, giving me experience not only in caregiving and teaching, but also in curriculum development, classroom management, child development, and supporting families. I especially enjoy creating hands-on, play-based learning experiences that incorporate art, science, nature, music, and children’s individual interests.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love getting kids out of the house and exploring! Depending on their ages, that might mean playgrounds, nature walks, gardening, libraries, museums, farms, splash pads, or finding a new local adventure. At home, I love art projects, sensory and messy play, science experiments, baking and cooking, reading, music, imaginative play, and building projects. With my background in early childhood education, I’m great at taking something a child is interested in and turning it into a fun, hands-on learning experience without making it feel like “school.” I especially love nature-based activities and giving children plenty of opportunities to create, explore, get messy, ask questions, and be curious about the world around them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building a relationship based on trust, both with the children and their parents. I want children to feel completely safe, loved, respected, and comfortable being themselves with me. I also believe a nanny should be a true partner to parents, providing consistency while respecting each family’s values and parenting style. Some of the most meaningful relationships in my life have come from caring for children and becoming part of their family over the years. To me, being a nanny is much more than a job. It’s having the privilege of becoming an important, trusted person in a child’s life.

My experience with special needs children...

Throughout my career as both a nanny and early childhood educator, I have worked with children with a wide range of developmental and learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. I’m experienced in adapting activities, routines, expectations, and communication to meet each child where they are. I believe strongly in focusing on a child’s individual strengths, interests, and needs while providing patience, consistency, encouragement, and appropriate support. I’m also comfortable collaborating with families, teachers, and other professionals to maintain consistency in a child’s care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite part of being a nanny was having the privilege of watching the children grow up and being part of their lives for so many years. Some of my favorite memories are from traveling the world together, experiencing new places and cultures through their eyes, and sharing adventures that we still remember years later. There’s something incredibly special about becoming part of a family and watching the little people you once cared for grow into amazing young adults.
