Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked for a little boy over the past 3 years. I have taken him on trips to the zoo. I would usually cook and clean the house for the family. I also took him swimming because I am a lifeguard. I worked with another family of 3 with kids ages (0-5).
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to color or do fun easy crafts that don’t create a big mess. I also like to take them outside and go on scavenger hunts in the yard or play with chalk. I also take them swimming or bike riding. I will take them on special days like birthdays to get ice cream if allowed by the parents and places like the zoo.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part is to keep the kids safe and happy. I think safety is just as important as happiness. I want all the kids I nanny for to trust me and feel that they can come to me. I also want to make sure they are making smart decisions and learning from their small mistakes like putting their shoes on the wrong feet and realizing they need to put them on the other way.
My experience with special needs children...
I have never worked with special needs children. I have worked with a special needs adult. I loved the experience and would love to work with special needs children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment was when the little boy I was nannying ran out to my car without shoes on. He jumped into my arms because I was on vacation and he missed me. It absolutely melted my heart.
