Hello! My name is Samantha Alcaide, I am 21yrs old and live in Woodcrest of Riverside, CA. I grew up living with my grandmother who was a caregiver for women with down syndrome which has taught me a lot of patience and humbleness. I am very friendly and easygoing with my surroundings. Many would describe me as a very trustworthy and responsible person. Currently I am seeking income so that I could provide for my 1yr old at home. Respectfully, I ask for a chance to take on the nanny role for your child(s) as I would be honored to do so. (Side note) currently I do not have a vehicle but I do have reliable transportation. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Well to start off, I have volunteered to care for children in my neighborhood numerous times in the past. My family members would also help me gain experience by house sitting and babysitting on the weekends. I have a grandmother who is a caretaker whom has allowed me to help with her down syndrome clients from time to time. Also, I have an older sister who has given me the ability to prove that I am responsible to care for her children when needed. Overall I have a big heart and love to help out when I can! Actually, in my high school career, I was one of a few hundred kids that volunteered to be a TA for a class of down syndrome/special need students because no one else wanted to! I am a very supportive and optimistic person who is willing to give a helping hand.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some indoor activities I enjoy doing with children are simply drawing or puzzling. Sometimes i like improvising with my surroundings to keep a child content (only) if appropriate. For outdoors, I love to play soccer with children because they use a lot of energy running around so that when it's time to go back inside they are more calm and collective. Yoga is also one of my favorite exercises because it helps with relaxation. As a child my parents enrolled me in many sports including soccer, track, cheerleading, color guard, basketball and swimming lessons; so for me it's easy to improvise new ways to keep kids entertained and busy no matter what it takes!

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters to me about being a nanny is that I know at the end of the day I am a helping hand to the families who seek for someone respectable, responsible and trustworthy. The most important part about being a nanny is being genuine. I cherish the opportunities each family gives me so that I could prove myself to be fit for the position granted. I am a mother as well, so with that being said, I've learned that it is very difficult to trust (anyone) with my child... so for me it is just as personal as it is to the guardian(s) of the children to be great human being.

My experience with special needs children...

When I was high school student, I took on the role to be a TA for a special needs/down syndrome class. Since I am very understanding and kind hearted, the students loved me because of how fair I was with them. I never made them feel different or any less than the rest of the world. And I honestly learned more from the students than they could have ever learned from me! I take so much pride in successfully helping children/adults with special needs because I know it truly means a lot to them when someone is willing to be patient.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most memorable moments I've ever experienced while being a nanny is when children confide in me to help them. Usually, it isn't easy for young children to trust or even get along with someone they aren't familiar with; which is totally understandable, but I strive to prove that I am a good person! It's adorable when kids come out of their shell and find comfort so they could be their true self💌 It is such a rewarding experience!
