A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Samantha and I adore working with children. I have a background in working with young children, as well as a experience in helping my Mother with my 4 younger brothers. I have my CDA and I currently work at a private preschool as a lead Preschool teacher (ages 2-3). I have worked with infants up to 5 year olds, but I do have experience with older children because, as I have mentioned, I helped with my siblings. I am very passionate about working with children but am looking for a change of pace, considering my own child (soon to be 6) is entering public school. I am hoping to find a family with needs for care that align with my own new schedule come September. I look forward to meeting with you and your babies!

I enjoy teaching children. I love answering questions, scaffolding their play, asking open-ended questions to enhance their cognitive skills and imagination. I love to go along with child guided play. I can play Barbies, Legos, we can paint, race, throw balls. Each child is different and I am completely engaged!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Sight and sound! Always have the children in your sight or hear them. Attend to their needs. Build a relationship with them. Take an interest in their interests.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a very brief experience with a non verbal autistic child. It was definitely a learning experience for me, and I could still stand to learn more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have yet to be a nanny, but by far, my favorite ECE moments are when kids say things that totally shock you! It's unprecedented and also very heartening to see their personalities come out.
