Hello! I’m Jasmine, I’m 18 years old and looking for a job as a babysitter/nanny. I love working with kids, I helped raise, and still care for, my cousins since they were babies. I’ve also had paid and non paid experience with children with special needs. As well as paid experience with babies-teens so I can change a dirty diaper, or help with homework! Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing really anything with kids. It generally depends on what they enjoy. I can play with toys, watch tv, go on walks, read, play games, build forts. It all depends on what the kids like. Generally I do try to find entertainment that isn’t screens, but if parents want me to just turn on the tv, I can do that too. It depends on the preferences of the children and parents!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me the most important part is making the kids comfortable and happy. And I don’t mean always giving them what they want, but I mean actually setting them up with life skills that will teach them to be better, more fulfilled people as they grow up.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with autistic children, and children with Down syndrome, whom I work with well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite things as a sitter, that wasn’t necessarily a specific moment but progress, was when my cousin was finally potty trained. I worked with him for months to get him potty trained and began to worry it might not go anywhere. But I kept working anyway because I knew it was what he needed. I was so proud of him when he finally finished his potty training!
