Hello Parents! I hope this message finds you well! My name is Scarlen Terrero and I am a senior in high school. I am currently in search of a loving family to whom I can offer my services. I have been the primary caretaker for children in my family for years!

One of my best qualities is my ability to have empathy, especially children. I am also a bilingual nanny, I speak both English and Spanish fluently.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have also worked for a couple of families for a total of 3 years! I’d love to tell you more about myself and my qualities as a nanny! My past experiences with child care included taking care of a 2-year-old boy from 4-9 p.m. for 3 months where we engaged in activities, bath time, and nap time. I also cared for a 1.5-year-old girl during the summer from 9 am - 4 pm, during this time I also engaged her in fun outdoor as well as indoor activities, and had bath time and nap time. On occasion, I take care of young children, one of which included teaming up with another caretaker to babysit 4 kids, 2 six-month-old twins, a 3-year-old, and a 2-year-old from 4 pm - to 12 am in the evening. More recently I have been caring for an 11-year-old special needs child who has a speech delay. My day with her consists of taking her outside to the swing set, making her snacks, Tidying up the kitchen and play area, folding laundry, and having bath time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love children and contributing to their growth! Some activities I love engaging kids with are arts and crafts, puzzles/games, outdoor activities like sports or playground and so many more because they demonstrate the best results for kids!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is having the privilege to watch the children grow into smart and beautiful kids with your help and encouragement!

My experience with special needs children...

My current job is currently caring for a special needs child. She is 11 years old with a speech delay. My daily routine with her includes making her snacks, taking her outside to play, engaging in games or coloring. During difficult situations where she doesn’t follow directions, I try to redirect her with a positive attitude and good ideas for her to engage in. The most difficult task with her is giving her a bath. Most times she dosent want to take a bath and when she does, she doesn’t want to come out the bath. I again redirect her with a positive attitude and use patience. Patience is key specially if you’re working with a special needs child!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment for all the children I have taken care of has been creating a loving and trusting relationship with them. The first couple weeks the children are shy but then they begin to warm up to you and show their character. I absolutely love being like a best friend and someone they could trust!
