Hi my name is Selena, and I am 22 years old. My mom has been a nanny since she was 17 years old. From a very young age, I started accompanying her to her jobs and learning the ropes. I got my first regular independent babysitting job at 13, for a feisty 2-year-old boy. I've had 6 more regular childcare jobs since then with children ages 2-14. I offer tutoring, laundry, cleaning, pick ups and drop offs, pet care, meal preparation, and activities supervision. I've been a high school paraprofessional, and a program coordinator at Junior Achievement BizTown during the school years. Therefore, I have professional experience with tutoring and academic assistance/learning support.

As a paraprofessional teacher, my focus was for the learning support students who had mental/emotional impairment in their ability to learn. I’ve worked with children with Autism, ADHD, severe anxiety, depression, and dyslexia.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Whenever my kids hug me or express their gratitude I always treasure each time. Similar to a parent, being a nanny is a very giving position, without much expectation for return. So it’s the little moments that you stack up and keep close to your heart. I view all the children I’ve ever worked with to be my family, and those little moments are like postcards I keep in my memory for when I’m no longer with them.
