I was a behavioral technician for children with autism for about 6 months. i absolutely adored my job but scheduling was an issue for me. i like to have a set schedule that allows me to be able to incorporate it into my own daily schedule.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
i love doing whatever the children love doing. some things i may suggest are going to the park, coloring & making pictures for their parents, & dancing is a big one or anything active. expression is important & i’d love to incorporate different styles of what they already enjoy doing.
The most important part about being a nanny...
what matters to me most about being a nanny would be making sure safety is number 1 priority. i love having just as much fun as the kids but making sure the kids are safe will always come first. as well as helping the parents out whether it means having to go to work, date night, mental day, etc.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve worked with children with autism, verbal & non verbal. i did it for about 6 months. prior to working with special needs, i am an auntie of 27 nieces & nephews. my oldest nephew is on the spectrum to where a lot of my other nieces & nephews have adhd, add, bipolar, etc.
