My name is Shantel but I go by Mickey :)
I have Been a sitter for over 7 years to a range of different families and backgrounds in different cities and towns in New Jersey. This is my current line of work and I can't see myself any other way. I am interactive as well as energetic, kind, understanding of children and their needs and emotions, a teacher in many ways of our world and educational wise as well. I love to engage in sports, outside play, and imaginative adventures as well as properly taking care of children as young as Infant to toddler and teaching mannerisms and kindness to children who are just developing and understanding their cognitive skills. I have an unlimited amount of patience and understanding when it comes to children and how they think. I love to be able to do housework and give that parent a freeing hand and help any way possible.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play sports and outside physical activities along with art and crafts and creating imaginative play with children :) I’m perfectly able to supervise during swimming and love to swim as well as teaching swimming styles

The most important part about being a nanny...

To be understanding, compassionate, and empathetic with children. They do not know as much as we do about the world and will sometimes be confused or frustrated, but the best reaction in any situation is to understand why that child feels how they do about something and guiding them through life and experiences positively.

My experience with special needs children...

-I’ve cared for a child in the early mornings who had autism and was non verbal and my duties consisted of getting him ready in the morning with breakfast, getting dressed, bathroom usage, book bag organized with lunch, entertainment before school and getting to the bus stop.
