More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a center aide at Allison's Infant & Toddler Center, where I cared for a variety of children from infants to 11 years old

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I truly enjoy engaging with children in ways that support their growth, creativity, and well-being. Some of the activities I find most rewarding include:

Creative Play & Arts – Drawing, coloring, and simple crafts that encourage imagination and help children express themselves.

Reading & Storytelling – Sharing age-appropriate books or making up stories together to strengthen literacy skills and spark curiosity.

Outdoor Activities – Going on walks, playing simple games, or exploring nature, which helps children stay active and develop motor skills.

Educational Games – Using puzzles, memory games, and building blocks to support problem-solving and critical thinking.

Music & Movement – Singing songs, dancing, or rhythm activities that make learning fun and help with coordination.

Social Play – Encouraging group activities that build cooperation, patience, and sharing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children can grow and thrive.

My experience with special needs children...

I have lifelong, personal experience supporting close family members with special needs, which has given me a deep understanding of patience, empathy, and the importance of individualized care. From a young age, I have been actively involved in helping with their daily routines, assisting with communication, and encouraging them during challenging moments. This has taught me how to adapt activities to meet different abilities and to create a safe, supportive environment.

In addition to my family experience, I worked at Allison Day Care through One Summer Chicago, where I helped care for children with varying needs. My responsibilities included assisting with daily activities, providing extra support during transitions, and ensuring that each child felt included and engaged. This hands-on experience allowed me to build strong skills in working collaboratively with staff, following care plans, and supporting children in ways that foster both learning and social development.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was seeing the excitement on my youngest 4-year-old sister's face when she accomplished something they had been working hard on. I remember helping her practice her letters every day, sounding out the alphabet together, and turning it into a fun game.
