More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a babysitter and an eldercare-giver since I was 12 years old! However I began officially nannying at 17 when I assisted a first-time mother with her newborn twins. They had many medical needs, though I do not have a nursing education I am very familiar with pre-mature baby care because of this experience. Since then I have worked with many families on a part-time basis as I completed college! These children ranged from 1 month to 17 years and had a large range of capabilities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For all ages, I absolutely love doing crafts and both indoor and outdoor projects! I also like to read to or with any age child. With babies, I am very familiar with tummy and core strength play time. I also enjoy music and cooking / baking. I have experience teaching children safe baking!

The most important part about being a nanny...

is being part of a child's life during their formative years. I do not take that lightly by any means, and fully appreciate each opportunity to help them grow and learn at home!

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children / adults with the following conditions: Bipolar Disorder, Autism, Down Syndrome, Dementia, OCD, POTS, Epilepsy, a child without arms or legs (result of an illness that claimed his limbs), Disorganized Attachment Disorder, and ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

After taking a few weeks off for medical reasons, I returned to a family who all greeted me with the biggest hugs ever! I felt so loved, in the same way I love and care for them in return. Moments like this make everything worth it, and remind me of why I do what I do! Caregiving and healing is my main purpose in life, this was a wonderful reminder of how much it means to be an important part of a family unit.
