More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am a retired educator of 40 years who taught and was lead teacher/ department chair, behavior interventionist. I have elementary, middle and high school during my 40 years in education. I’m the mother of three adult daughters with six beautiful grandchildren. I retired in 2022 due to my mom being sick, but came out of retirement because I knew my calling for working with children was not over. I’m working as a reading interventionist part-time with Hoover city schools. I’m excited about this opportunity to continue my work with children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading, tutoring, homework, anything outdoors to include sports, hiking, horseback riding, going to the library, cooking. My grandchildren who ran in age from 4 to 16 will tell you that I’m full of energy and fun.!

My experience with special needs children...
I dedicated 40 years of teaching special needs children of all ages, and all disabilities including Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, ADHD. During my 40 year tenure teaching special needs students, I can’t think of a disability I did not work with. Teaching children is my passion.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have not been a nanny, although when you teach your students become your family. We have six grandchildren that all live in very close proximity and for that we are grateful. My grandson told a lady in Walmart recently that he really liked her lips. He is just three. I wasn’t sure what her reaction would be, but she died out laughing along with me!
