More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In addition to being a mother of two grown children and a grandmother, I have spent over 33 years working with children in many different settings. I ran an in-home daycare for military families at Fort Stewart, Georgia, which gave me experience caring for multiple children of different ages at once. I have also served as a full-time nanny and house manager in private homes, balancing childcare with household responsibilities. Alongside this, I work as a substitute teacher in Birmingham, Atlanta, and Gwinnett County schools, which has allowed me to care for and teach children from pre-K through high school.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love creating activities that are both fun and educational. With younger children, I enjoy reading stories, singing songs, doing arts and crafts, and exploring outdoors with nature walks or playground time. For school-aged children, I enjoy helping with homework, playing educational games, and encouraging creativity through music, writing, or projects. I also love introducing children to cooking simple meals, doing puzzles, and physical activities that keep them active and engaged.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building trust and partnership with the family while nurturing the child’s growth and happiness. Parents should feel complete peace of mind knowing their child is safe, cared for, and thriving. For me, it’s not just about supervision — it’s about being a loving, reliable presence who helps children feel secure, encourages their development, and supports the family as a whole.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children of diverse needs and learning styles, including those who require extra patience, individualized routines, or adaptive learning approaches. Through my substitute teaching experience, I have been able to support children with behavioral, developmental, and learning differences, always focusing on creating a calm, supportive, and encouraging environment. I believe every child deserves to feel valued and capable, and I adjust my care to meet each child’s unique needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments as a nanny was helping a toddler I cared for learn to read their first word. We had been practicing daily with letter sounds, songs, and picture books, and the day they proudly read aloud on their own was unforgettable. Watching children reach milestones — whether it’s taking first steps, speaking first words, or mastering a skill — fills me with joy and reminds me why I love this work.

Hi, I’m a young mother of two, I have a almost five year old boy and 4 year old girl and they are my world. I have always taken care of children and been into babysitting. I even had a little in home sitter thing going at one point. I also clean homes on the side and currently am working a full time job building crates for Mercedes at Kontane Logistics. But I am wanting to get back to the kids. I love doing it and they don’t seem to mind me much either! I have plenty of references if needed, thanks!
