Engage in play that is a part of learning! Depending on age the higher the play leads into real beginning learning ABC’ S, Numbers. Playdough is good for fine motor skills. I love to go on walks to take child outside in the nature! Reading is part of my everyday routine!

My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with the autistic child, whom
I found very endearing, to be very open and
honest I have taught and encountered each and every various child there is and I consider that to be an honor and privilege! I taught at a Psychiatric Hospital where the School was built within! It was for all types of children both emotional, special needs high intelligent children but it was the best experience of my teaching carreer! I
Worked with Psychiatrists, Social workers, Psychologists, Nurses, and Behavior Techs.
But most importantly; with children that probably needed more love and compassion than they did an excellent education!
More empathy than hammering on the math or English; they had been through Foster home after Foster home and we were their last hope! We were ages four -seventeen
years old! It was a beautiful but very challenging environment to work at!

I have had so many in the 15 years of being a nanny! I had a little girl from 6 months old until she was 4 years old ; her daddy was a Doctor at UVA so we had a lot of time together! When she was in a high chair I would let her begin to experiment with childsafe paint 🎨 she wore a bib!
Oh my goodness she loved it and would laugh and giggle it would be a mess but “Hey” that is how they learn it can't be all perfectly clean all day for a 17 month old to learn! To this day I continue to watch Anna on the weekends in occasions when her parents go out or need need me! Anna is now in 3rd grade ; the first thing she wants to do when I walk in the door Is Paint 🎨! I know to bring paint every time! So her parents thank me for starting her early because she has become quite good but most of she loves it 💜🎨!!
