The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny, in my opinion, is providing a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for the children in my care. This means always putting their safety and well-being first, being reliable and trustworthy, and working closely with parents to support their family’s needs and routines. I believe it’s also essential to communicate well with both children and parents, to be patient, adaptable, and to genuinely enjoy helping kids learn and grow. Building trust with the family and helping children feel secure, respected, and happy is at the heart of what makes a great nanny.
My experience with special needs children...
As a substitute teacher, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of children, including those with special needs. Specifically, I’ve supported non-verbal children between the ages of 3 and 5, using alternative communication methods such as visual aids, gestures, and assistive technology to help them express themselves and participate in classroom activities. This experience taught me the importance of patience, creativity, and adaptability in meeting each child’s unique needs.
Additionally, I’ve worked with children across all grade levels who have disabilities that aren’t immediately visible, such as learning differences, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and emotional or sensory processing challenges. I understand the importance of providing individualized support, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment. My goal is always to ensure that all children feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite memories as a nanny is hosting a special “girls’ night” with the children I care for. We spent the evening baking homemade cookies together—mixing, rolling dough, and decorating with lots of sprinkles and giggles. After enjoying our delicious creations, we settled in for a cozy movie marathon, complete with big bowls of ice cream. Watching the kids’ faces light up as they enjoyed their treats and got lost in the film was truly heartwarming. It was a night filled with laughter, teamwork, and sweet memories that I’ll always treasure.
