A little bit about me

Hi ! I’m Sierra & I’m a student at Stepful studying pediatric medical assisting. I’ve been nannying for 4 years and babysitting/working with children for roughly 8 years. I started off volunteering in my little sister’s daycare as an after school activity, which then turned into a paid summer job & from there I found my passion for childcare. I'm CPR/First Aid certified & have certifications in using an Automated External Defibrillator. I’m bilingual in creole & currently learning Spanish before I can consider myself multilingual.

As someone with several years of experience , I see the importance of incorporating learning into play through different Montessori techniques, exiting games, & creative crafts. I always show up prepared with fun activities to engage the kids in. I love being outdoors & I occasionally go to the gym, keeping myself very active with lots of energy to keep up with little ones.

is understanding that the safety and well-being of the children under my care IS always the top priority. Understanding that I have someone’s child in my hands, a life in my hands and I have HUGE responsibilities day in and day out.

My experience with special needs children...

developed when I nannied for a family whom had a 6 year old son that was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. My experience with him was no different than any other child he just required a little more attention but we still had fun and created a strong foundation for his Childhood development to continue to flourish.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite parts about being a nanny is getting to tap into my inner child. I use my imagination to the fullest in this career, and it couldn't be any more entertaining. Some days I get to play with Legos, other day Barbie dolls, and the next day I’m an astronaut lol. I also love that every moment I spend with children because of the individual bonds I create. Some look at me as a big sister figure others a mother figure and that alone warms my heart that a little human I have no relation too looks forward to spending time with me everyday. I loved the days where I took kids to the brooklyn museum and others disney any outing spent with the children healed my inner child.
