A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Skyla Knowles. Naturally, I would definitely say I am pretty outgoing; however, calm and patient when needed. I am very flexible with scheduling and happy to help with anything from babysitting and homework help to light cleaning, driving, or caring for pets.

I’ve absolutely loved being around children for as long as I can remember. I started babysitting for family friends when I was younger and quickly realized how much joy I find in being around children. I’ve looked after children of many ages, varying from 2-15. Since moving to Orlando, I have had part-time work but am now looking for something a bit more consistent.

More about myself, I recently moved from Miami to the Orlando area to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, so I am very passionate about health and fitness. In my free time, I love any form of swimming, music, reading, or exercising.

Mainly, my goal is to help parents feel confident that their children are happy and safe while they’re away.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve worked with children many times throughout my life. Apart from sitting, my family runs a charity that supports kids from newborns to teenagers, so I have been involved with children of all ages for as long as I can remember. I also lived with a family where I cared for their son from infancy through age three, which was another wonderful experience.

Most recently, I’ve worked with an amazing mom here in Orlando, and previously with another amazing family before my move. I’d be happy to provide references from all of these families if needed.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love spending time with kids in ways that are both fun and enriching. Some of my favorite activities would probably include helping with homework, reading together, drawing, making snacks, and playing games. I also enjoy being outdoors and doing activities like swimming, going to the park, and just soaking up the sun in general.

Overall, I truly enjoy watching a child grow and develop each day. It’s wonderful to see them master something they didn’t know when we first met. My goal is always to support that kind of learning in the happiest, healthiest way possible.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with parents, because caring for someone’s child the way they would is essential.
I believe that everything a babysitter says or does can leave a lasting impression, so I strive to reflect the family’s values and create a positive, loving environment where children can grow.
I also value recognizing the privilege of helping shape the next generation. Safety always comes first, and right behind that is making sure kids have fun and feel free to explore.

My experience with special needs children...

I have previous experience working with children with down syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It’s hard to pick just one favorite moment, but some of my best memories are with the 3 to 5 year olds I’ve cared for. I feel like this is the age when a child’s personality really begins to shine, and you can start to see who they’re becoming. I especially love little girls at this stage, their adorable sass and big opinions always make me laugh. It’s such a treat to watch someone so young and small already show so much character and opinion.

Jordan W. - Seeking Work in Orlando

Babysitter Available in Orlando, FL: Jordan W.

I am a 23 year old young woman in Orlando with experience in nannying young children (4-12), as well as being a day time camp counselor for preschool-1st grade age children. I have experience with mid-high functioning autistic children and consider myself patient and understanding to children's individual needs. I do have boundaries that I will enforce with children (ie "No means no"), but I understand that child care is full of pivots and adapting to day to day challenges. I love to be playful with children, as well as enrich them with learning opportunities whenever possible. I am looking for a family that aligns with my values and respects me as a care taker for their children!

Jaime C. - Seeking Work in Orlando

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Orlando, FL: Jaime C.

I'm Jaime (most of my friends call me Jaycee) and I am thrilled to be working with your family. 8 years ago, I relocated to Orlando with my family from New York to finish school. I am a sophomore at the Valencia College studying Pediatric Nursing and Childhood Education. I have been caring for children privately for over 9+ years and I have worked with children of all ages. For the past three and a half years I have been working at Walt Disney World part time and tutoring children K-12 both face-to-face and online. I love creative play with younger children and taking them out on adventures to experience life outside of today's technology. Activities that let them express themselves and experiment are also fun, it's great getting to know their personalities and viewing the world through their eyes. My favorite things about children are their imaginations and unconditional love for all. Though they are little, one tiny human can teach you more than you know.
