The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part about being a nanny is to become friends with the children your taking care of so that they know that they build trust and love to a nanny that is willing to take care of them.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children has been great! There are times when they don’t want to behave or have episodes, panic attacks, or meltdowns, but I always give them space to express themselves before helping them calm down. Once they feel better, I play games with them to keep them engaged.
I usually don’t give out devices like phones or tablets because, aside from my brother, we don’t have extras for other special needs kids. However, there’s always YouTube on the big screen, a park outside, and plenty of toys.
Every day, I learn something new when I’m with a special needs child. I take the time to understand their struggles and what they need. I do my best to support them in any way I can. I will always be there for special needs kids because they deserve patience, care, and someone who truly understands them.

There are so many moments I love about being a nanny, but if I had to pick one, it would be making a child laugh at my jokes or seeing them happy because of the care I provide. It shows that I’m being a good nanny for them, and hopefully, I’ll continue to do the same for other children.
