My experience with special needs children...

I have had first hand experience with growing up with an uncle with special needs, my father being a special needs professor and in my own experience as an aquatic director - some of my most cherished clients were on the spectrum and not one swim lesson I cannot remember as anything but a thrilling and competitive experience to be apart of. Even children with special needs, that needed more support from me - we took our time to instill every safety measure in the book and to go on to swimming techniques that would only give the children the confidence to explore their abilities in the water was a true treasure in my eyes and especially for the families who had always been so concerned about their Childs safety and well being but with time and plenty of encouragement the lessons resulted in many many milestones achieved along the way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Bath time with KiKi, after years of tubby time where we would always make potions and do science experiments as well as aquatic training as she felt safe and secure enough to allow me to test her most basic swim skills that would ultimately prepare her for the day she decided to jump into the pool, swimmy-free, Mc Kinney and I would spend hours just testing out her nose bubbles, her new mermaid goggles, getting used to water in her eyes or her nose just in case she ever swallowed water she would not be scared but prepared, hours of tubby time turned her into the mermaid she always dreamed she be, and after her 5th summer of swimming like a big girl doing her bubbles holding her breath and floating in the tub she decided to cannon ball with no one or anything to catch her as she jumped out into the pool and swam on her own out to her mother and her father without a tear and all smiles and giggles for Miss Mc Kinney was one of our all time greatest triumphs!
