I care for my niece at least 3 times a week while sister is working, also watch my cousins and worked with special needs children in high school. I have experience with all genders and ages.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to color, go to the park, watch tv. I also like to go to the library, help the children with school work. I like to make food such as cookies or cupcakes with children if parents allow it and if the age permits.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part to me is the parents and the child trust me to care for them as if the child was my own. It’s important for me to have a relationship with the parents as well as the child. It’s important to me that the child understands how to follow directions and listen when redirected. It’s important for the child to know I will put his or her well being ahead of my own.
My experience with special needs children...
I have had experience in high school watching special needs children for 2 hours a day. I have also helped them with homework and such. My cousin is also on the spectrum and I am very well with him.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment is when a child falls asleep in my arms or when they smile and if we can sit and watch tv together or when they tell me there goals in life and their interest. I like when a child has a connection with me.
