Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Some of my best experiences have been taking care of two kids for a full weekend while their parents were away, preparing meals, organizing activities, and handling bedtime alone. I also once cared for a toddler who had separation anxiety, I helped her feel calm and safe through gentle routines and play. I’ve managed after school hours with multiple children, helping with homework, snacks, and cleanup. I’ve learned to stay calm under pressure, stay organized, and always put the child’s needs first.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really enjoy doing creative and fun activities with kids. Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, reading storybooks together, playing pretend games, and doing simple science or DIY projects. I also like helping them bake or cook easy recipes (with supervision), setting up outdoor games, or building things like puzzles and Legos. I try to choose activities based on their interests and energy levels whether it’s something active like a mini obstacle course, or something calm like drawing or watching an educational show. I always try to make our time together both fun and meaningful.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important parts of being a nanny are creating a safe environment, building trust with both the child and their family, and being someone the child feels comfortable around. It’s not just about watching over them it’s about being present, attentive, and caring. Every child is different, so it’s important to be patient, adaptable, and respectful of each family’s rules and routines. Good communication, staying calm under pressure, and showing genuine care are key. I believe a great nanny helps children feel loved, supported, and confident, all while making their day fun and meaningful.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve also cared for my toddler cousin who has ADHD, which has taught me a lot about patience, flexibility, and understanding. With him, I’ve learned how to keep a steady routine, give simple and clear instructions, and use playful ways to keep his attention. We do a lot of hands on activities like building, coloring, and sensory games, which help him stay engaged and calm. I’ve also learned how to gently redirect his energy and support him through moments of frustration. Spending time with him has really helped me become more aware of how to meet different emotional and behavioral needs with kindness and consistency.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments while babysitting was an afternoon I spent doing arts and crafts with two sisters. We turned the living room into a mini art studio with paper, glue, stickers, and recycled materials. They were so excited to create their own little “houses” out of cardboard, and we ended up building an entire mini town together. They were focused, happy, and so proud of their work. It was really special to see how creative they could be, and how something simple turned into hours of fun. Moments like that remind me why I love working with kids.
