A little bit about me

I am a very kind, caring individual, I love both children and animals very much. I have two rescue cats of my own along with a plethora of house plants. I am a good cook, a gifted seamstress, love arts & crafts, I have a green thumb, and I am neat and organized. I am Radford University 2020 graduate where I earned my B.S. I majored in theatrical costuming and minored in peace studies. I spent my summers working with children, once at a JCC working with 3-11 year olds, and then two summers at a theatre intensive for 14-18 year olds. I also spent a summer living with my medically disabled grandparents caring for them. I did Teakwondo for about ten years beginning at the age of five and I earned two black belts as well as national titles. I grew up around a plethora of different animals, from dogs and cats, to horses and pigs, to ducks and turtles.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Kellam High School spring, summer, and winter kids camps.
I was a live in nanny for my uncle one summer, taking my younger cousins to various camps, grocery shopping, meal prepping, playdates, and housework.
I was an RA at a summer theatre intensive for two summers where I would work with the children in a professional threatre setting, as well as having 5-6 teenage girls under my care in a home. I was a head RA my second summer.
I was a camp counselor at a JCC in Newton Massachusetts, I had a range of children 3-11.

My experience with special needs children...

Babysitting my neighbor's child with down syndrome throughout highschool, his mom would have me watch him in their home, as well as have me take him swimming at the YMCA. I also had a student with autism at the ovenight theatre intensive I worked at. He was not in my house but, I did work with him and 70 other students everyday in and out of the household setting as well as a professional theatre setting.
