Understanding Boundaries! Meeting a new kid doesn't mean you are going to be working with them. I am a true believer that if when first meeting a child they do not like me, no one should force the child to spend more time around me. If you are teaching your child not to talk to strangers and I as a stranger comes in and tries to care for a child that does not like me. It can only cause more stress for the child. There is always a good fit for your kids.

The only special needs children I have worked with was a singular boy who has autism. He liked to keep to himself and was quite shy.

When a kid finally learned how to say my name properly. As corny or cheesy as that is, many children when they start out talking struggle to say my name so hearing them say it correctly the first time is so wonderful.
