Hi, I'm 27 and currently in school working toward my degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In January, I'll begin grad school to become a Speech-Language Pathologist, with my program being completely online. For the next few months, I also have a couple of on-campus classes. I was born and raised in Nazareth, PA. I’ve been working with children for over 10 years, including a few years at a daycare, and I nannied for an infant for almost a year during COVID. While I'm not currently CPR certified, I can renew my certification if needed. In my free time, I love to explore. My hobbies include hiking, photography, and spending time with my dog!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

From [phone number hidden], I babysat young neighbors after school, on weekends, and for date nights. In the summer of 2015, I was a nanny for two boys and a girl, all under the age of 5. From fall 2015 to spring 2016, I nannied for a family where both parents worked night shifts, so I stayed overnight caring for two boys, one under 2 and the other 7. In the summer of 2016, I started working at a daycare for almost two years, and during that time, I took a 3-month leave to nanny a 2-month-old while her mom went back to work. When the mother left her job, I returned to the daycare, and continued babysitting after work and on weekends. From 2019 to 2021, I was a nanny for a 2-month-old until the child was over a year old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

The activities I enjoy doing with children definitely depend on their age and interests. I love being outdoors—whether it's blowing bubbles, going to the park, riding bikes, taking walks, drawing with chalk, or engaging in pretend play. With a little imagination, I can turn a park into a castle or a G-rated Jurassic Park! Of course, the needs of the child come first. If there's homework to be done, we'll tackle that first to make sure there's plenty of time to play afterward.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can thrive emotionally, mentally, and physically. This includes ensuring their well-being, fostering their development through play and learning, and building a trusting relationship with both the child and the family. Consistency, patience, and clear communication with the parents are also key to creating a stable and positive environment for the children.

My experience with special needs children...

During my time at the daycare, I spent half my day with a 4-year-old girl with autism. She was an absolute angel—one of the smartest and sweetest 4-year-olds I’ve ever met. Everyone learns in their own way and at their own pace. It definitely takes some extra patience, but the reward is that much sweeter.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love Disney, so you’ll often find me playing Disney music or humming a tune or two. The twins I’ve cared for since they were 7 months old know that The Lion King is my favorite. They’re 3 now, and for my birthday during COVID—since no one could leave their homes—they had their mom record them singing 'Hakuna Matata' and sent it to me. I can’t even express how much that meant to me!

I also cherish the little moments with the younger kids—whether it’s learning the alphabet, writing their name for the first time, or watching them blow their first bubble. And with infants, I absolutely adore their sweet little sounds and smiles, and seeing them interact with the world around them. It’s those small moments that make everything so special!
