I have been babysitting since I was younger. In high school I graduated with Early Childhood Development honors as I spent 2+ hours a day in a child care center.

It depends on the age, but I love to plan out things for the children to do. With infants it is focused more on tummy time and things to build their fine and gross motor skills. As the children age I like to do painting and engaging learning activities with them that they will have fun doing but also learn from!

I think having that extra set of hands in raising a child is always useful. For the parents as well as the child. It relives some stress from the parents, but it also shows that the child is loved. I think that having that relationship with a family as you nanny also helps the children feel more secure and know that they have a structure that they can rely on.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments has been hearing the kids get super excited to know that I was there. Hearing them shouting my name before I even got into the house always brings a smile to my face. On one of these days, I remember being pulled into the house right away to see new drawings and books and things that we got to play with that day.
