I am a mom of two kids. One girl who is now 18 and one boy who is 14. I have cared for 5 children at once 2years old to 12 years old. I am able to multitask while making sure the children are cared for and not just having the TV watch them or let them play outside without me being out with them to supervise. I will provide light cleaning and I'm willing to work occasional evening or weekend hours along with occasional overnight care. I try my best to not offer my opinion unless asked and I do not have to be right all the time. I am willing to assist with errands and helping parents take care of small things that don't have to do with the children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I usually enjoy whatever the kids like to do. Playdough play, outside play, swimming, games that are not video games but like red light, green light, Simon's says and more. Roller skating if there was a skating rink around. Hide and seek and I am willing to cook with them as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I treat any child I am caring for as if they were my own. But seeing a child learn everyday is a gift. For instance the 2 year old little I care for currently didn't really talk and still doesn't really but the words Thank You that I had been working with him to say just throughout any day and are now the first words that you can hear from him and actually understand. I talk to the children or child as if they could answer me and such. Yes I know they might not understand what I'm saying but I believe the more you talk with them the more they learn quicker. I don't use curse words when talking to them but just communicate with them as they are little adults. I guess that isn't an exact moment but everyday just seeing the people they are becoming is rewarding enough.
