A little bit about me

I graduated from UCF in 2010 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, was certified K-12. I also worked in day care centers for many years, working with infants and 1 year olds, Lead Teacher of 2 year old class for 2 years, as well as teaching VPK for 3 years. I would care for older children as well when they got out of school.
I also have 10 nieces and nephews that I have helped take care of, as well as a godson, who I helped raise from his birth to age 5. I love children, but was not able to have children of my own, so I love spending time with children. I have a lot of energy to keep up with and entertain children for hours at a time. I am also very good with educating children and helping them grow both fundamentaly and personaly. I respect the parent's rules and guidelines for their children and am a very caring, empathetic, respectful woman from a big family that is extremely tight-knit. Working with children has what I have wanted to do since I was in middle school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to be outdoors whenever the weather permits. I enjoy playing traditional games as well as using creativity to play any games children make up. I also love when children use their imagination and we act things out, whether we are animals, Prince or Princesses, or going on an adventure! I love dancing and know ALL the children's songs and dances from working in day cares. I also try to incorporate learning into all activities whether by simple questioning or teaching directly.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Caring for children with the same kindness and enthusiasm as their parents/grandparents/family would. Helping to help the children's skills, both motor/physical and mental, and helping to advance their knowledge as they grow, through enthusiastic, fun games & activities as well as helping with any homework or workbooks. I also think it is very important to help them to be respectful, kind and optimistic in life. As a former educator and aunt of 10 nieces and nephews, I believe anyone spending time with children should always be trying to enrich them while being active, engaged and truly caring for their well-being.

My experience with special needs children...

In middle and high-school I was the teacher's assistant for 1 "period" each day special needs classroom. Just engaging with the students & working 1 on 1 with students on lessons based on their level. These children were mentally and physically impaired, sometimes both. It was a learning experience for a wide variety of needs to accommodate each child.

I have also watched children with Autism, & have 2 family member's children who are autistic, but very different needs and where they are on the "spectrum". One is non-verbal who does not like touching or affection but loves to do incredible artwork, and one who is in Elementary school & is the opposite. He is extremely loving and always wanting to hug and play, but had his own special needs.

My only trouble is I am only 5 feet tall, so I am not able to lift more than about 60lbs maximum.
