A little bit about me

Hello, My name is Thea. I have worked as a babysitter & nanny for a little over a decade now. Following that, I have spent the last two years working at my local hospital as a CNA. I have taken care of people from every stage of life, from birth to hospice care. I also like to consider myself a very passionate person, especially when it comes to working with and helping out the people within my community. I love working with kids specifically because growing up I was the oldest sibling, which put me in charge of caring for and protecting my younger brothers and sisters. I am someone who also values communication and respect. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I professionally worked with kids when I was floated to the pediatric emergency room. I have also nannied for a number of families over the last decade. I am proud of my work and I am eternally grateful to the families that trusted me in helping them when needed.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love anything outdoors, anything creative, board games, video games, and even simpler things like enjoying reading a great new book!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my role as a nanny is to make sure the parents' values and rules are upheld and respected to the best of my ability. Of course, that does not include the fact that the most important part of my own job is making sure a family member in need is being protected, cared for, and having their needs met (and respected) while I am the one caring for them. I will do whatever it takes to ensure the family is happy with my effort to help in whatever way fits that family's needs.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked closely with a child who had been diagnosed with autism. He was an amazing young child who appreciated patience and understanding. I have taken classes in child development and psychology in college which also helped me better understand how to work with and be considerate with anyone who suffers from anything that may make life more complicated.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love it when kids have those pure moments of joy. Whether it's from a trip to the park, their favorite snack, or seeing their parents come home to them. It always warms my heart knowing that they can find joy in even the "little things" in life. It reminds me to do the same.
