More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My first experience with children began with volunteer work as a high school and college student. In high school, i was in the JROTC program and we would frequently participate in youth events at elementary schools. In college, my organizations would frequently work with children on career days where we would donate sanitary supplies to children, and the academic involvement such as Books for Africa organization. In addition, i'm one of the Sunday School teachers at my church. I always enjoy working with kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Overall, there are so many things that i enjoy doing with kids that I mentor. Those activities consists of scavenger hunts, puzzles, kids toys, listening to audio books, baking, chalk-board drawing, making paper airplanes, board games, making DIYs. For outdoor activities we can go to the playground, water balloons, pool noodle rings, sandbox gardens, and walks in the park, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I would say the most important part would be bonding with the child, being a part of their growth and learning about them. As an adult, it's important to lead by example, providing emotional support for children, and build that trust. Every child is different and unique and their own ways. Being receptive to how your child operates, will assist me in my care for them.
My experience with special needs children...
My first experience with special needs child was in my Sunday school class. It was a learning experience for me, because I realized that I did not necessarily have the opportunity to interact with special needs child. I believe that understanding their needs, being attentive and patient, creating a safe environment, but most importantly maintaining an open communication with the parents is key to their care.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I would say my favorite moments with children would be bonding with them and being a part of their growth. Every child is different and unique in their own ways.
