The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with the child and their family. It’s not just about supervision it’s about becoming a consistent, compassionate presence in a child’s life, someone who supports their emotional, social, and developmental growth every day. Creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel seen, heard, and valued is at the heart of what I do.
My experience with special needs children...
I have had the privilege of working with children with special needs, including with autism spectrum disorder. My approach is rooted in patience, empathy, and consistency. I take the time to understand each child’s unique strengths, triggers, and communication style, and I tailor routines and activities to support their development and comfort. I’ve worked closely with therapists and parents to ensure continuity in care, and I use positive reinforcement and structured environments to help the children I care for feel secure and successful.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when I helped a shy little boy I cared for build up the confidence to perform in his school’s talent show. He loved singing at home but was too nervous to do it in front of others. We practiced together everyday. When the big day came, he not only sang on stage but smiled the whole way through. Seeing his proud face and the applause he received was one of the most heartwarming, unforgettable moments I’ve had as a nanny.
