More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During my High School career I was a Cheerleader and every summer we had a program called Jr. POMS for all ages from elementary to middle school boys and girls. Where we took care of children, played games, taught them a few cheers and a dance to preform at the children’s flag football games later that week.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and craft, playing any games (children's choice) tag, hide-and-go-seek, sharks and minnows (if there is enough children to play, playing games outside (soccer, basketball, softball)

The most important part about being a nanny...

To have a connection with the children, yes I’m there care-giver but many of my kids see me/call me Auntie T. They still see me as an adult figure and respect me, but they also see me as a friend who will never judge them, never raise my voice at them, never harm them in any way, but instead be someone who is kind, sweet, understanding, and someone they can count on to be there when they need me the most. A great artist, and awesome play-mate, a teacher, a mentor, a big sister; and some many other things.

My experience with special needs children...

From 2018 to 2022 I took care of a little boy named Riley who has Asperger Autism Syndrome came into the household when he was 4 years old turning 5 that July. He didn’t know how to process certain situations. He would get frustrated quickly, and had temper-tantrums, on bad days it’s was bad but when he had good days they were good, he is very intelligent and sweet, from the first day I met Riley we connected instantly it’s like he knew he could trust me his parents were very impressed with how quickly he became comfortable around me. I’ve never raise my voice or got upset with him I understood his condition and studied up on how to de-escalate bad situations and veer him into a better mood. Picked him up from school some days, did schoolwork with him, played games, watched movies, prepared meals. As time went on he didn’t need me anymore and I knew there would others just like him, who would need to be taught that their disabilities does not define who they are.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Second day being with Riley, he drew me a picture of him and I saying “Thank you for taking care of me, I love you Trinity.” After seeing that drawing I became emotional and he wiped my tears and it was as if he was telling me not to cry, but to smile and gave me a big hug. Like I said before he is so intelligent and sweet. My little angel. I’ll never forget this moment

Full-Time Nanny Available in Antioch, IL: Sarah S.

I am a very caring, loving, and companionate woman! I have been a nanny for 15+ years and absolutely adore children and the work I do! I adapt very well to almost any situation. Especially when it comes to children. I absolutely love being outdoors and would do just about anything outside with the kiddos.
I love to learn and grow with families and children! One of my favorite hobbies is just being with my children (I am a single mother to a 10 yr old and 14 yr old boys)and doing family friendly activities like going to the beach, parks, etc.
Ashley S. - Seeking Work in Antioch

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Antioch, IL: Ashley S.

Hi my name is Ash, nice to meet you! I recently moved back to Illinois last February. My last job I worked with children, some young as five to mid teens. I helped special needs children and children with mood disorders. I am first aid and CPR certified. I also have a drivers license and a car. I believe children understand more then we give them credit for. Sometimes they just need some help to tell you what they need. I heard a phrase once that “children do well when they can”. In my opinion kids do not act out just to cause trouble. They usually just do not understand or they do not know the proper words to say what’s going on. Sometimes they may just be scared. My philosophy is to be patient, learning something for the first time is never easy. New experiences can be exciting but also at times terrifying. Having adventures and exploring is important any backyard can be a kingdom. It’s all in the mind you know?

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Antioch, IL: Ashlee R.

My name is Ashlee and I have experience in both nannying and teaching. I’ve been a nanny for 10+ years and have been teaching for 4+. I believe the health and safety of the little ones in my care are top priority, while education is very close up there as well. I love to get down on the kiddos level and keep them busy with games, educational activities, and laughter. While your little one is in my care they will feel safe, seen, and respected at all times. I have a 3 year old son so I know what it takes to put your mind at ease and giving the best care at all times!

*my son is in school half days, but I am looking for a job that will allow him to come with me the other half. Thank you!*
