I was a camp counselor for the Summers of 2017- ‘19. I worked with girls between the ages of 5 to 8. Ensured the safety of kids of all ages; caring for them and attending to their needs. I provided lessons in manners, respect, honesty, teamwork, and leadership. I also was a supportive role both low and high-income girls.

It is important to create a relationship to the children so that they feel safe, cared for and appreciated. Being sure to have a distinction between my care and the love from their parents. Lastly making sure that the children have fun and feel that they can trust who is taking care of them.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with an autistic toddler. I would play with her as well as teaching her manners/mannerisms and common skills. Because I worked during the evening I would also prep her nightly medicine.
