A little bit about me

Hello there! I am writing this cover letter to supplement the child care resume attached. I understand that so much of this job comes down to trust and comfort; you and your family’s trust and comfort with me. It is incredibly hard to gauge that through writing, but I hope after this I have engendered at least a little bit more of both.

Nothing motivates me like working with the foundation of our collective future. I think about the impactful teachers, mentors, and peers I have had and I hope to someday be counted amongst them by as many people as possible. Building genuine connections and relationships fills me with a sense of purpose and motivation that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else in my (relatively) short professional life. There is a Mark Twain quote that says “the two most important days of your life are when you are born and when you figure out why”, and my why is working with young people.
